When I was a kid, I thought I was going to either be the next FloJo or the first woman to start at center for the LA Lakers.

I stopped growing at 5'10" and... fell short of following in FloJo's footsteps. But my love for sports- and my obsession with the Olympics- has survived.

My Story

When I was 10 I also said when that I wanted to "make tv" and,

thankfully, that was one dream I never had to let go.

In April of 2022, I was honored to be named to the Ankeny Fanatic's

all-time Ankeny girls' track and field team. The Hawkettes have

produced some fantastic track and field athletes, and I was thrilled

to be included on the list.

I became a volunteer coach of the West Omaha Wolves Track Club

in the spring of 2022 and continued as a cross country coach in the

fall. In January of 2023, I was named the head coach of Omaha Mercy High School's track and field team. The Monarchs finished the 2023 season with 26 girls setting new PRs, 17 with GPAs over 3.0, 15 letterwinners, 8 named to the academic all-conference honorees, 4 athletes scoring points at Districts, and 2 named academic all-state honorees. At the conclusion of the season I was also named the assistant cross country coach.

You could say that track and field, particularly coaching youth teams, is a passion of mine. The two hours at practice every day is the highlight of my day. While I'm competitive, I ask my athletes to not focus on winning, but to focus on working as hard as they can; some days that's 100% and some days that's closer to 50%. But as long as they're working hard, I'm happy.  Really, I just need to fill my downtime and why not pass along my love of sports to kids?

The Olympics and Paralympics are my favorite thing in the entire world-- It doesn't matter what event is going on, I'll probably be glued to the tv to watch and will likely have a random fact or 5 ready about the team, athlete or sport.

If you're looking for someone to join a volleyball team, I'm in! Need a track or rowing coach? I'm your woman! My favorite teams are the Dallas Mavericks, Portland Thorns, Iowa State Cyclones, SMU Mustangs, and Chicago Bears. Ask me why I have multiple favorite Portland Thorns... or don't because I will explain in great detail why Christine Sinclair is #1 in my heart before I break down the

rankings of my other favorites.

I also spend a lot of time reading (mostly fiction), watching

movies (action and horror are my favorite genres), and tv

shows. I also find cooking and baking relaxing (my funfetti

cookies are out of this world).  I'm a homebody but I still

love to travel, and Hawai'i is my happy place (just look -->).

I cannot pass a dog on the street without greeting it as if

we're best friends- I'm not kidding. I greet every dog with a

cheerful, "HI FRIEND!" before asking its human if I can pet

their dog.

I am a regular blood donor and have been for years after my high school debate coach encouraged us to donate. I'm officially closing in on 4 gallons.
